Insulated Attic Armor™ Top-plate and penetration sealing from Phoenix duct & attic specialists

Closes the house off from the attic with closed-cell foam, before the insulation goes on top.

Seal first, then insulate

Close the House Off From the Attic Before You Insulate It.

Insulation slows heat. It does nothing to stop air. Insulated Attic Armor™ is the seal underneath the blanket.

  • Seals the gaps along wall top plates throughout the attic
  • Seals plumbing, electrical and HVAC penetrations through the ceiling
  • Keeps attic air, dust and heat out of your walls and rooms
  • Closed-cell foam: reduces air movement and heat transfer in one pass

Where Attic Air Gets In

Your Walls Are Open to the Attic. You Just Can’t See It From the Living Room.

Six places attic air gets into a Valley home. Tap a point, then switch to the sealed view.

1 · Top plates. The top of every interior wall is open framing. Hot attic air drops straight into the wall cavities.
Thermal camera image of heat glowing along the top plate where the wall meets the ceiling
What the thermal camera sees before sealing: the wall glows at the top.

When We Recommend It

Does Your Home Show the Signs?

Dust is the visible symptom. The invisible one is heat: wall cavities fill with attic air and the whole wall becomes a radiator into the room.

Check the ones that sound like your home

Takes about 15 seconds. Nothing is submitted.

Open and Sealed

Insulation Is a Blanket. Insulated Attic Armor™ Is the Seal Underneath It.

Blowing new insulation over open top plates buries the problem where nobody can reach it again. Sealing first means the blanket does its job over a sealed ceiling.

Questions

Insulated Attic Armor™, Answered

Is this spray-foaming the whole attic?
No. The foam goes along the top plates and around the penetrations in the attic floor, the boundary between the attic and your rooms. The roof deck is left alone, and Blown-In Premium Fiberglass goes over the sealed floor afterward.
Do I need it if I am adding insulation?
Yes, and it comes first. New insulation over open top plates buries the leaks where nobody can reach them again. Sealing first means the blanket does its full job.
Can it be done on its own?
Yes. It goes into any attic plan and into air quality plans as the third source-control step, and it is available by itself when the thermal images show the walls glowing at the top.
Does it replace Insulated Duct Armor™?
No. The ducts and the ceiling are both doorways for attic air. Insulated Duct Armor™ closes the ducts; Insulated Attic Armor™ closes the ceiling. Most homes with attic-air symptoms need both.
Will it help with dust?
Usually, yes. Insulation fibers, dust and the “attic smell” when the blower runs are attic air entering after the filter. A better filter cannot catch it; a sealed ceiling stops it.
How do you know where to seal?
The assessment images every ceiling and wall top from inside the house, tests room pressure with doors closed and takes air quality readings, so the plan seals the openings that are actually letting attic air in.

Damien Mendez at Knights of the Attic did an awesome job balancing our cooling system after the attic portion of the work was complete. Listened to us and made adjustments based on our issues/ needs. Thank you!

Every single one of their employees was personable, polite, punctual, and tidy. We had experience with Nick, Antonio, Jovan, Miguel, and Noah. Our house is significantly more comfortable. Our master suite is at the far end of the house and used to be 10 to 15° warmer than the rest of the home. We are sleeping so much better, thanks to Knights of the Attic! Highly recommend!

We have had a hot room upstairs since we moved in over a decade ago. Numerous AC companies told us different things, no solutions. These guys came out and fixed the airflow, sealed it up and everything is great now. I wish I called sooner honestly.
