The Problem Above Your Ceiling

Arizona Attics Are Brutal on Standard Ductwork

Most Southwest homes are built slab-on-grade, so the duct system lives in the attic — the hottest, harshest part of the house. Your AC may be working hard, but if ducts are leaking, overheating, and exposed up there, the cool air you paid for may never make it to your rooms.

The result shows up downstairs: that one room that never cools off, a system that runs and runs on summer afternoons, and bills that keep climbing.

See the Fix

Extreme Attic Heat

During summer afternoons, exposed attic ductwork absorbs heat and forces the HVAC system to fight an uphill battle.

Duct Leakage

Leaky or poorly insulated ducts waste cooled air before it reaches the living space, making the system run longer.

Premature System Wear

When airflow is restricted or air is lost in the attic, equipment works harder than intended and may wear out faster.

Dust & Indoor Air Quality

Leaks can pull hot, dusty attic air into the system and circulate contaminants through the home.

The Proprietary Fix

One System. Three Layers of Defense.

Insulated Duct Armor is Knights of the Attic’s proprietary duct protection system. Applied directly to your existing attic ductwork, it seals, insulates, and protects the duct system at the source — no full duct replacement required.

  • Seals

Seals duct gaps, cracks, and vulnerable connections from the outside — slaying the leakage that wastes conditioned air and reduces HVAC efficiency.

  • Insulates

A thick insulation layer shields ducts from extreme attic temperatures, keeping air colder all summer long and reducing hot and cold rooms.

  • Reinforces

A durable protective coating wraps aging ductwork, improving long-term performance and reliability for decades to come.

Built Like Armor

What’s Inside the Armor

Every layer has a job. The duct is sealed at its gaps and connections, wrapped in a thick insulating barrier, and finished with a durable protective coating that stands up to decades of Arizona attic conditions.

30+ Year Lifespan
  • Seals vulnerable duct gaps and connections
  • Adds a thick, protective insulating barrier
  • Shields ductwork from extreme attic heat, significantly extending its lifespan
  • Helps conditioned air reach the rooms where it belongs

What You’ll Feel at Home

Comfort You Notice. Protection You Don’t Have To Think About.

Insulated Duct Armor works quietly above your ceiling, every hour your system runs.

Cooler Delivered Air

Insulated, protected ducts help keep air colder on its way from the system to your registers, all summer long.

Reduced Duct Leakage

Sealing gaps and cracks from the outside keeps conditioned air in the ducts instead of losing it to the attic.

Better Room-to-Room Comfort

Properly sealed and insulated ducts help conditioned air reach the rooms that need it most — including that one stubborn room.

More Consistent Airflow

Sealed ducts can improve airflow and comfort throughout the home, so your system delivers what it was designed to.

Protection From Extreme Attic Conditions

A durable outer layer shields ductwork from the heat and wear that break down unprotected ducts.

Longer-Lasting Ductwork

Armored ducts are built to protect and preserve your duct system for the long haul — with a 50+ year lifespan.

Good Questions

Insulated Duct Armor FAQs

Insulated Duct Armor is Knights of the Attic’s proprietary duct protection system. It seals duct gaps and cracks from the outside, adds a thick insulating layer that protects ducts from extreme attic temperatures, and finishes with a durable protective coating — so the cold air you paid for is delivered to each room.

In many homes, no. Insulated Duct Armor is applied to your existing duct system, adding a durable protective layer around aging ductwork to improve long-term performance and reliability. Our free Duct & Attic Assessment determines whether your ducts are a good candidate or whether other work is needed first.

Hot and cold rooms are often caused by leaking, poorly insulated, or heat-soaked attic ductwork. By sealing leaks and insulating the ducts, Insulated Duct Armor helps conditioned air reach the rooms that need it most. Because every home is different, we start with a free assessment to identify what’s actually causing your problem rooms.

Insulated Duct Armor is built for a 50+ year lifespan — and the work is backed by our 20-year labor workmanship warranty, far beyond the 1–2 years most contractors offer.

Installs can vary based on how extensive of a project you decided to go with. Typical installs are around 1-2 days, sometimes extending into 3 days on the larger projects. The work happens in your attic, not your living space, and our team documents the job with before, during, and after photos — then cleans up completely when we’re done.

Yes. A Knights of the Attic expert inspects your attic and duct system, shows you what we find, and explains your options; with no obligation whatsoever. If Insulated Duct Armor isn’t the right fit for your home, we’ll tell you that too.

First off, Hats off to my girlfriend for noticing the billboard for KOTA. Second, Shane Ratliff had the technology to scan my home, the knowledge to explain why my 1987 home duct work and remodel was inefficient even with a solid Goettl 4ton 16yr old AC unit and the time to explain what to look for, how it should be running efficiently and came up with a plan to get my home balanced, run more efficiently, save $$ on my power bill and most importantly make my good old AC unit last longer. I was going to try and fix it myself, after listening with Shane with the intent to understand, i realized i would have wasted my time and money doing the work myself without having the proper tools and technology to diagnose the actual problem. Absolutely worth the $$. I wanted it done right the 1st time. I believe in buying the BEST that way your always happy with it. KOTA have multiple guarantees that are beyond what i thought was needed, therefore if they trust their work, ill trust the craftsmanship that they are going to give my home. GREAT JOB TEAM. I HOPE YOU ALL ARE SUCCESSFUL... As this is the right way to handle home cooling/comfort issues like mine. You are on top of it. Keep it up, you have 9 million more homes to fix! Now get to work!

I had insulated duct armor added to my HVAC system. Jahfear was professional and explained the process beforehand. I didn’t know how messy the installation would be, so I’m happy to say that Jahfear did an amazing job of cleaning up after the install. This was a great experience. I’m excited to see how the product helps the long term temperatures of my home.
